Ah don’t worry, we have so many wonderful authors celebrating our heritage in so many ways! Stacey Lee’s Luck of the Titanic is inspired by the Chinese survivors of the Titanic tragedy, Fonda Lee’s Jade Wars Trilogy is amazing (I think you might really enjoy her work, plus she’s Albertan too!). Judy Lin’s Magic Steeped in Poison is based on Taiwanese tea culture (another Albertan), Amy Tan of course (watch her Unintended Memoir documentary, it’s soo good), Chloe Gong’s Violent Delights (Romeo and Juliet retelling set in 1930s Shanghai), Joan He (Descendent of the Crane), Xiran Jay Zhao (Sci Fantasy based in a futuristic ancient Chinese world), Cindy Pon (Want series is sci fi set in Taiwan), JC Kang writes wuxia (suspect you’ll enjoy these too!), and so many more. :) Hit me up if you need any more recs.
Well...you are educated in the folklore of our people... it needs someone to popularize it
Otherwise, whole swaths of our ancient culture will die out
